Remote Two is a local, privacy-oriented, open, and highly adaptable control solution designed to cater to various devices across your network or via infrared connectivity. With its open API, it paves the way for extensive customization, expanding its capabilities.

Functioning as independent devices residing on your network, both the remote and the dock have the capability to communicate with each other, enhancing their combined functionalities.

The remote connects to your WiFi network, while the dock offers the flexibility of connecting through WiFi or Ethernet.

Control Capabilities

Acting as brains of the operations, the remote manages all logic operations and communication with devices on the network or transmits infrared codes through the dock. This dual mode of device control offers:

  1. Seamless integration with existing smart home systems such as Home Assistant or Homey, enabling control through these platforms.
  2. Direct control of devices like Apple TV, Android TV, Sonos speakers, and more, without the need for a central controller.

The flexibility of Remote Two shines as it allows for a blend of both methods, enabling users to control some devices via home automation systems while managing others directly. This offers users unparalleled convenience and control over their connected devices.

The dock doesn't just transmit IR signals solely from the remote; it can also operate as an independent IR blaster, controlled through its own accessible open API. Additionally, it can learn codes from many IR devices.

Configuring Remote Two

While you can adjust settings directly on the remote, using a tablet or desktop computer makes customization even simpler.

No need for downloading any apps here! The remote features a convenient web-based configuration tool called the Web Configurator. All it takes is a web browser to connect to the remote and begin personalizing it to suit your needs.

Keep in mind, if the remote goes to sleep, it disconnects from the network. For longer configuration sessions, simply pop the remote into the dock for uninterrupted tweaking.
