An entity represents a device, its functions or sensors.

To enable control, the remote must be informed about which entities it should manage. At the moment, there are two approaches for including entities into the remote:

  • Through an integration
  • By addition of an IR remote

How to add an integration?

  1. Access the Web Configurator and proceed to Integrations & Docks.
  2. Add a new network-based integration by pressing the plus icon.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions for setting up the integration.
  4. Upon completion, you'll be able to view the entities provided by the integration. Here, you can opt to include them for the remote to control.

How to add an IR remote?

  1. Access the Web Configurator and proceed to Remotes.
  2. Add a new remote by pressing the plus icon.
  3. Select an IR codeset by searching for a manufacturer* or create a blank device.
  4. Once added, the remote entity will be available for the remote to control.

* Makers commonly utilize identical IR code sets across different models. To simplify this, we offer generic code sets for certain devices, such as TVs, AVRs, and more.

If you have followed the steps above, you have successfully added entities for the remote to control. To customize the UI, head over to the User interface menu to create profiles, pages and add entities to the user interface.
