💡 The following instructions show the new web-configurator v2, introduced with the Remote beta firmware v2.0.0.
The v1 version only differs in the first step to open the dock setup: go to the Integrations & docks view and click on the + in the Docks section.
💡 Dock 3 requires Beta Firmware 2.4 or newer on Remote Two.
The smart charging dock needs to be added to the Remote to be able to send infrared commands through the dock. Charging also works if the dock is not configured.
The setup process will configure the dock with a WiFi network, if it is not connected to ethernet, and makes it available as an IR emitter for the Remote.
Follow these steps to add a new dock with auto-discovery. See also: Manually add a Dock in the Web Configurator.
- In the home screen of the web-configurator, select Add a new device and then choose Dock:
💡 A new dock can also be added from the Integrations view with the + Add new dock button:
- The Add new dock dialog opens, where you can start the discovery with the Discover button. For manual setup, please see Manually add a Dock in the Web Configurator.
By default docks are searched on your local network and with Bluetooth. Bluetooth discovery can be switched off to limit discovery to network devices only.
- All discovered docks are listed. Click on the dock which you would like to configure.
- A Bluetooth or network jack icon show how the dock was discovered.
- Dock Two devices start with “UC-Dock”.
- Dock 3 devices start with “UCD3”.
-
A friendly name for the Dock is required in the settings screen.
- WiFi configuration is required for Docks discovered by Bluetooth.
- Setting a password is optional. The default is
0000
if no custom password is set.
This password must be entered if the dock is used by multiple Remotes, or accessed by other systems with the WebSocket Dock-API.
-
Setting up a dock already connected to your network (ethernet or WiFi):
-
Setting up a dock discovered by Bluetooth without a network connection:
Enter your WiFi network name (SSID) and password. Make sure that you use the same WiFi network as the Remote is using.
For more information see: Dock 3 Bluetooth LE setup
Note: choosing a discovered WiFi network by the Remote is planned in a future update.
Clicking Next will start the Bluetooth setup process. The Dock 3 requires to press the control button on the dock to initiate the setup.
Please follow the prompts during setup and observe the LCD screen on the dock.
-
After successfully storing and reconnecting to the Dock, the setup process is finished.
Click Done and the newly added dock shows up in the Dock overview:
