💡 The following instructions show the new web-configurator v2, introduced with the Remote beta firmware v2.0.0.
💡 Dock 3 requires Beta Firmware 2.4 or newer on Remote Two.
See Add a new Dock in the Web Configurator on how to start adding a new dock to the Remote. Instead of using the automatic discovery, a dock can also be set up manually.
This is for example required if mDNS is not active in your network, or the Dock cannot be discovered because it is located in a different, routed network. The manual dock setup is only possible if the Dock is already connected to the network, either with ethernet or WiFi.
- Choose Manual setup at the start of the Dock setup:
- A friendly name for the Dock and the connection URL are required in the settings screen.
- Dock URL: the full WebSocket URL must be entered. Only entering a hostname or IP address will not work for Unfolded Circle Docks.
- Dock Two:
ws://$IP:946
- Dock 3:
ws://$IP/ws
- Either an IP address or a hostname can be used for the connection URL.
- A static IP address is recommended to avoid name resolution issues and faster reconnects after standby.
- A DHCP IP reservation is highly recommended to avoid changing IP addresses, which lead to connection loss.
- Dock Two:
- Setting a password is optional. The default is
0000
if no custom password is set. This password must be entered if the dock is used by multiple Remotes, or accessed by other systems with the WebSocket Dock-API. - WiFi configuration is optional for a Dock connected to ethernet. If WiFi is configured, it acts as a fallback connection method if ethernet is not connected.
